JETS WEEK 7: NIGHTMARE ON GLENN ST.

- Tom Mele, Contributor

Rutherford, NJ - The crowd at MetLife Stadium was not horrified this past Sunday, they were bored.

The Panthers defeated the Jets 13-6 for their third straight win, a first for quarterback Bryce Young since he has taken over the controls for Carolina. Young did have to leave the game early with a ankle injury so his status for next week is undetermined.

What is determined is the Jets are 0-7 and embarking on a historical season for the franchise, one they wish they were not a part of.  They are the only winless team left in the NFL.

The day did not start well as WR Garrett Wilson did not suit up and Gang Green was still missing star linebacker Quincy Williams and defensive back Michael Carter.

It got worse for the secondary as All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner left the game for concussion protocol and his status for next week is up in the air.

As for the QB situation, starter Justin Fields was not impressive again, getting sacked three times and completing 6/12 passes for only 46 yards. Head Coach Aaron Glenn made the move to backup Tyrod Taylor and although Taylor moved the team down the field, he was victimized by a pair of interceptions to Panther DB Jaycee Horn, one occurring in the end zone.

Overall, the Jets managed only 220 yards of offense and Coach Glenn has not determined who the QB will be going into Cincinnati against the Bengals next week.

Cincinnati’s season has been derailed by the unfortunate injury to star QB Joe Burrow but ex Jet Joe Flacco, so far seems up to the task as he faces off against his former team next Sunday.

BCP Plus will be here next week when the Jets Season Massacre continues.
