DART GETS THE START FOR GIANTS IN WEEK 4
- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief
Earlier this week it was reported that after an 0-3 start for the New York Giants, none other than rookie QB Jaxson Dart will get the start this Sunday for Big Blue. While many fans are cautiously optimistic for the young upstart to get the proverbial tap on the shoulder, there are a few ways this could play out.
Giants fans could embrace the power of positivity. We already have a strong Wide Receiver in Nabers, and Cameron Skattebo is proving to be a force to be reckoned with for defensive lines. Skattebo has impressed with his grit and old school running back style. I don’t want to put the cart before the horse, but what if, just IF we were able to have a big three on offense with the addition of Dart at QB. Dart seems to be hungry, competitive, and ready to take on a leadership role on the team. The proof, however, will be in the pudding as they say.
Conversely even if Dart is the real deal, will the struggling offensive line not allow him to really shine? We’ve seen how Daniel Jones is absolutely FLOURISHING in Indiana. Not to mention that despite being absolutely decimated by defenses, Russell Wilson has really played hard on every single down. Perhaps Dart should sit on the bench with a clipboard for the rest of the year, like QBs of the past to learn, instead of being thrown into the fire in only the fourth game of the season. Who’s to say?
Final Thoughts: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. Something needs to change, and change now. We have three young guys with a ton of potential, but a lack of experience in the pros. I think this is a VERY good problem to have. Let these guys find some sort of chemistry throughout the rest of the season, and build the O-line in the off season. It may not be pretty, and it may take time, but it’s now or never for Big Blue. I for one, am ready to go on the roller coaster ride this season.
