GCW: EVIL DEEDS ROCKS THE MOTOR CITY

Detroit was rocking last night as Game Changer Wrestling made its return to Detroit. Once again emanating from the famous Harpos Concert theater, last night added another chapter of history to the historic venue .

 

Uncle Chase Burnett vs Tre Lamar vs Kj Orso vs Brayden Toon vs Gary Jay

 

We kicked off the night with a scramble match that definitely, to quote WWE Hall of fFmer Bully Ray, was “Detroit Rock City."

Past guest of the podcast Uncle Chase stole the show. Showcasing his ring rope wizardry, despite his aging appearance. Don’t let that fool you!! The whole crowd was chanting for Uncle Chase once it was all said and done. This was my first chance to see “Kj Orso” FKA Fuego Del Sol and I have to say I was not only impressed with the difference in the way he wrestled, but one thing remained, he’s a star pulling out the victory . Even in defeat one thing was certain. Uncle Chase has reminded the fans of Michigan and GCW that he’s nothing to be slept on!

 

Mance Warner vs Beastman

Ole Mancer, Mance Warner had a BIG challenge against past guest of the show Beastman. Mance has been on a tear since his shocking arrival in TNA and tonight was no different . Beastman showed that SIZE does matter, as they brawled all over Harpos and had the crowd yelling HUSK as the carnage ensued. Ultimately Mancer’s trusty staple gun proved to be the great equalizer as he got the victory.

 

Shotzi vs Megan Bayne

 

Next up we had a great match between Shotzi and AEW’s Megan Bayne. Shotzi has set the indies on fire since her exit from WWE . Her feud with Matt Cardona in GCW has been making headlines everywhere, but tonight she faced off with the Megasus, Megan Bayne of AEW. Shotzi looks great and truly seemed to be enjoying herself in there . She and Megan kicked the door down ...literally,  and had a badass match! Megan Bayne in my estimation could be one of the next star attractions in all of Women’s Wrestling. I love the ode to the legend Jushin Thunder Liger as she showcased her great power hitting the Liger bomb for the win.

 

One called Manders vs Dominic Garrini

One thing that’s special about GCW is the entrance music which always gives ECW vibes in the best way . Both Garrini and Manders have iconic themes as Manders made his way to the ring with “Wanted Dead or Alive “ by Bon Jovi which had the Detroit crowd singing karaoke. Before the match he demanded we get to hear Garrini’s theme which was Zombie by the Cranberries which was cut before the chorus . These guys beat the brakes of each other ultimately leading to a Manders Victory.

 

The Cogars vs The Bev and Matt Tremont

 

Open the pit up and start throwing chairs this match was everything you would expect when you put the former 440 members Otis Cogar and past guest of the show Atticus Cogar against Matt Tremont and past guest Bobby Beverly. This match was interesting in many ways given the history as Beverly was a former member of 440 with Atticus and Otis . Then adding Matt Tremont and his own iconic entrance with Separate Ways by Journey. I really enjoyed the new team of The Bev and Tremont and think we may be talking with them about this soon on Knockouts and 3 Counts so stay tuned ! Atticus and Otis picked up the victory with some help from Christian Napier who flew from dance floor literally in what was one of the wildest dives I’ve seen in person ! Praying all is well for Napier after his GNARLY bump to the floor of Harpos!

Slade and Charles Mason jumped the Cogars post match which I’m sure won’t go unanswered .

 

Dr Redacted vs Crazy King

 

Dr Redacted is a guy we’ve seen tearing up the Deathmatch scene not only in GCW, but in places like Ruthless Pro Wrestling and around the world truly making a name for himself . He and Crazy King showed they are two of the CRAZIEST on the scene ! Light tubes were at a premium in this one, as the good doctor smashed at least 10 of them on Crazy before the finish of a dragon sleeper with a bag over his head ! That said you know they say battle makes you respect another man well these two as a team would be CRAZY!

 

4way tag match Effy and Gringo Loco vs Bang and Matthews vs Boisterous Behavior (Leon Slater and Man like DeReiss vs Joey Janela and Marcus Mathers

Deriess and Leon Slater lit up Harpos with their entrance alone ! I’ve never seen them as a team but man from the entrance to the in ring work was dope !Being the current and youngest TNA X Division Champion it was dope to see Slater in a legit tag team but of course once again showed why gravity doesn’t apply to him . Mid match we even got a dance off until Joey Janela reminded us they were all fighting for victory. Gringo’s partner Arez had a broken foot and he went down the Yellow Brick Road and had the GCW Champion Effy join him in his place . Gringo too took it to the dance floor with a big dive as well as they picked up the victory.

 

 

Joey Janela gave tribute to Jakka and Sabu with whom he famously had his last match with Sabu’s family in attendance as the Hoka Blues (Sabu’s Theme) ringing through Harpos one last time .

 

GCW and Juggalo Championship Wrestling Tag Team title Riddle box match Alec Price and Jordan Oliver YDNP vs The Brothers of Funstruction Ruffo & Yabo the clown

 

Game Changer Wrestling and Juggalo Championship Wrestling have been at war for quite some time and it came to a head in Detroit . We spoke with one half of the GCW and JCW tag champs the Prize City OG Alec Price of YDNP about this Tuesday on Knockouts and 3 Counts. While he said that he “wasn’t worried about Ruffo and Yabo and wanted all the smoke” the tricks up the sleeve of the Brothers of Funstruction proved to be too much . With it being a riddle box match with presents filled with all kinds of weapons for the participants all around the ring this made Yabo and Ruffo at home even on enemy turf . We saw juggling pins, balloons with powder, fire extinguishers and more as Harpos joined the circus for a little bit. YDNP though showed WHY they were champs with how cohesive they are as a team instantly reminding me of past guests of the show The Rascalz of TNA which would be a DOPE match but that’s a story for another time. Ultimately Ruffo and Yabo were victorious taking the belts back to JCW . I’m very interested to see how Jordan and Alec respond ! Watch out for the Clown Horn !

 

 

 

The Main event was full of past guests of KO3C as The Pillars MM3 and Malcolm Monroe III and Tommy Vendetta took on Reed Bentley and past guest of the show John Wayne Murdoch . These 4 were set to send us out with a BANG with 2 cans full of light tubes ! The Rejects showed their experience as they battled through the crowd and eventually had them split down the middle . Monroe and Vendetta who have made a name for themselves not just in GCW but around the world in ICW, RPW and more proved that they belong . Even though the Rejects got the win JWM and Reed Bentley took to the mic to put over the pillars saying they’re a “Real Deathmatch tag team and they’d fight them everyday of the week.” After a doomsday Detroit Destroyer ended the night .

 

 

As mentioned by many of the competitors Detroit showed out and hopefully will see GCW’s return to Detroit sooner rather than later .
