ACW FALLOUT: REVIEW
- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief
Awesome Championship Wrestling continues its hot streak with the brand's third installment "Fallout" at the MJN Center in Poughkeepsie. The card is absolutely stacked with top indie talent, hall of famers, and some of the biggest stars in pro wrestling today.

The show opens with REAL 1 (FKA Enzo Amore in WWE) cutting a clever promo on his challenger Zack Clayton and his fiance JWoww by association. Real 1 defends his ACW National Championship against the former AEW star in a solid match where Clayton ultimately Meets-Da-Feet.

Next up, "The Hunter" AJZ took on the high flying Sidney Akeem. Sidney did his typical incredible high flying maneuvers but AJZ, who I had never seen until this point, did a great job hanging. Bonus points to Akeem for having one of the best finishers in the business with a Double Back Handspring Ace Crusher. Absolutely amazing to see in person.

In the women's division, Tina San Antonio takes on Lena Kross. This was a really solid match as Tina is a seasoned vet, while Lena is quickly becoming a top draw on the independent scene. I expected nothing less than an awesome bout from these two, and that's exactly what we got.

Special guest Carlito made his way to the ring for a very special Carlito's Cabana. Carlito went back to the entranceway to request his old music, which got a big POP from yours truly. Carlito said he was here to wrestle since he hadn't really wrestled much on RAW. Carlito issued an open challenge allowing for TNA Star Brian Myers of The System to take up the opportunity. However, Super 8 winner Leo Sparrow made his way to the ring to make this a really fun triple threat. Ultimately, Carlito spit apple into Leo's face and hit him with a backstabber launching Leo's signature spinach into the air. Few things I like more in the business than when a TV talent gives an up and coming indie talent some shine.

Danny Doring cuts a promo to the dismay of the Poughkeepsie faithful. Parker Boudeeaux makes his way to the ring and absolutely decimates Doring in no time, along with a few extras for good measure. Impressive showing by the power house, and I want to see more.

The ACW Women's Championship was on the line, as champ Indi Hartwell took on challenger Vicious Vicki Venuto in a singles match. The last time these two met was in the inaugural ACW Women's Championship 6 Pack Challenge in which Venuto and Hartwell were the last two standing. Indi came out on top, but the chemistry between the two was undeniable. Great match here with plenty of time and reversals. Both competitors got a plethera of moves in including a (Sea)side Effect from Venuto, and a Hurts Donut from Hartwell. The TNA Star Hartwell again arose Victorious, but the real winners were the fans.

The Tag Team portion of the night saw the ACW Tag Team Champions, Shawn Donavan and Danny Maff w/ Josh Shernoff take on the Timeless One Crowbar and the big man Kerr with Vanessa. Hard hitting action and of course Crowbar's signature guard rails. Kerr impressed with his feats of strength, while Crowbar continues to show that he can still perform at an incredibly high level. Maff ultimately gets the win here after using Crowbar's guardrail against him and his team.

Post-match The NOW make their big announcement in saying that they will challenge The ACW Tag Team Champions Sent 2 Slaughter in a Ladder Match for the titles at the next big event in Poughkeepsie!! These two teams know each other so well, so this should be a good one!!

Dante Casanova took on TNA Star Mike Santana in what may have been the match of the night. This match was fast paced and hard hitting. Casanova showed that he could hang with one of the top talents in the world right now, so much so, that Santana gave him a great show of respect after the match. Santana gets the win and the momentum heading into TNA Slammiversary for the biggest match of HIS career.

The main event saw Matt Riddle take on Richard Holliday.(C) for the ACW Heavyweight Championship. Holliday proved time and time again that he can hang with TV talent, and this was no different. Solid match between these two but Richard Holliday did Richard Holliday things to retain here. However, this results in what may be one of the biggest independent wrestling matches of all time, as Holliday defends against Nemeth, Riddle, AND Cardona in a fatal four-way match at ACW Presents: Mischief Night on October 18th.
