UFC 300 Predictions
- Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor
This Saturday is the biggest UFC card of all time. No question about it, it’s legitimately stacked from the very start to the end. There are TWELVE former/current Champions fighting on this card.
If you're anything like me, you might be planning on putting some money on the line for the event. Or maybe you’re just interested in hearing what’s on the card since this might be the most anticipated fight card of all time. Either way I got you covered. Here is who I have winning this weekend and why:
Bantamweight - Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt
I’m a big Cody fan, but I don’t LOVE this fight for him. I think Figueiredo is gonna be to quick for him and beat him to every punch. I’ll be rooting for No Love (Cody), but my official prediction is Figueiredo by decision.
-310 (Figueiredo)
ODDS
+250 (Garbrandt)
Lightweight - Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller
This is another fight of two guys I’m a fan of, both dudes are veterans who deserve to be on this card. I just have a feeling these two dudes go out and scrap and I can see Bobby catching him and hurting him. I am going with green by TKO / KO.
-180 (Green)
ODDS
+150 (Miller)
Women’s Straw Weight - Jessica Andrade vs. Marina Rodriguez
In regards to this fight, my gut is telling me it’s time for the new guard. I think Rodriguez with catch her with something and win the fight.
-135 (Andrade )
ODDS
+114 (Rodriguez)
Lightweight - Jalin Turner vs. Renato Moicano
This is a very interesting fight, 10th ranked Turner vs. 13th ranked Moicano. I could seriously see this fight going either way, but when I think about who has more tools to win the fight, I’m learning towards Turner.
-238 (turner)
ODDS
+195 (moicano)
Featherweight - Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopez
I don’t have much to say about this fight, I just think Yusuff is better overall. Winner by decision.
+120 (Yusuff)
ODDS
-142 (Lopez)
Women’s Bantamweight - Holly holm vs. Kayla Harrison
This is a fight where I think we see a changing of the guards. Holly is a former UFC champion and a legend, but I think Kayla is just too much for her. She uses her incredible wrestling to take the fight wherever she wants. Kayla wins by submission.
Featherweight - Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
This is Aljos first fight in this weight class. He was a champion in a weight class under. Can he have the same success in a new weight division ? I think so. Especially with his superior wrestling and grappling ability. Aljo wins by submission.
+136 (Kattar)
ODDS
-162 (Aljo)
Light heavyweight- Jiří Procházka vs. Aleksandar Rakić
Here’s another fight where I’m a fan of both guys but I think the talent difference is just lopsided.
I think Jiri wins by KO
+100 (jiri)
ODDS
-120 (Rakic)
Middleweight - Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
This is the easiest fight to predict, Bo wins. Ground and pound.
-2100 (Bo)
ODDS
+1100 (Cody)
Lightweight - Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
Now this one is an extremely hard fight to predict because my gut and my brain are telling me two different things….
My brain says Arman wins, but my gut says Charles. I’m gonna rock with by brain and go with Arman, but I won’t be shocked in the slightest if Charles taps him.
+185 (Charles )
ODDS
-225 (arman)
Lightweight - Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway for the BMF championship
I love Max, He’s one of my favorite fighters ever. But I just feel like he’s gonna be overwhelmed and in for a long night. Max isn’t great at checking late kicks and Justin can kick your leg right off your body. Plus Justin has power that max just hasn’t faced before.
Justin wins by a 5 round beating
-170 (Justin)
ODDS
+142 (max)
Women’s Straw Weight - Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan for the UFC straw weight championship
This might be the very best fight on the entire card. These two are so evenly matched. I have to go with my gut here and for whatever reason I’m just feeling and NEW! Yan pulls off the upset!
Odds are basically even
Light heavyweight- Alex Pereira vs. Jamal Hill for the light heavyweight championship
I personally think Alex is a scariest fighter in the UFC. He just has the touch of death.
I think hill is coming back too soon from his injury and Alex will put his lights out
Alex by KO
-135 (Alex)
ODDS
+114 (Hill)
