GIANTS WEEK 3: DART-LESS G-MEN DEFEAT TITANS

The New York Football Giants rebounded after an absolutely heartbreaking Week 2. Big Blue defeated the Tennessee Titans 12-7 with a solid ground game, and superb kicking in Week 3.  

 

During a rainy Sunday in East Rutherford, NJ the G-Men were able to successfully run the ball for 139 rushing yards, with running backs Cam Skatteboo going for 60 yards, and Najee Harris running for 42 yards. The Giants were able to get into field goal position multiple times with Dominic Zvada scoring all 12 of the team’s points on four successful field goal attempts. 

 

Punter Jordan Stout had a stellar performance punting the ball, putting the Giant’s defense in great position. Stout even had one 74 yard punt in the game. 

 

The real MVP of the game was however, Jevon Holland who saved the game for the team, with a last minute interception on Cam Ward. Holland received a game ball after the game from coach Harbaugh.  

 

Harbaugh told the team, “That’s what winning is. It doesn’t have to be pretty. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s gonna get better, cuz we’re going to make sure it’s better right? It’s all those little things. But you find a way to win the game” 

 

The Giants will indeed find a way, as earlier the team today acquired J.J. McCarthy from the Vikings trading a 2027 fifth round pick, for the former first rounder draftee. Harbaugh has announced that Jameis Winston will be starting for the team on Sunday against the Cardinals, but it will be interesting to see how the QB situation in New York plays out going forward. 

 

With Jaxson Dart out for the season, Brian Burns undergoing an MRI, and numerous other injuries to the team, the Giants will indeed have to find a way.
