Ravens Week 16 Report:
Everyone Loves a Good Underdog Story

Wayne Keehner, Contributor

Understandably the Ravens entered their Christmas night match-up against the 49ers as 5.5 point underdogs. Some of that due to being the road team and the absolute juggernaut of an offense that San Fran has fielded so far.

The part that really didn't sit well with Baltimore was how 44 out of 47 national football analysts chose the 49ers to win, and win convincingly. One of the more respected of the group, Mike Florio went as far as saying, "The 49ers kick the s--t out of the Ravens on Monday night. I'm sorry, I know that's disrespectful to the Ravens, but let's be realistic. They're going to fly across the country on Christmas night, and the 49ers are waiting. If this is a Super Bowl preview, then the Super Bowl will suck!" And just like the Michael Jordan meme... The Ravens took that personally!

Now, don't get it wrong. The 49ers basically moved the ball with relative ease between the 20's. It really came down to 5 crucial takeaways by the Ravens that stopped the momentum and decided the outcome of the game. That's Ravens football. It isn't pretty, it isn't fancy, it's never a fantasy stat fest. They simply trust the person next to them all 3 phases of the game and they find a way to win.

So... this week they face another high octane offense in Miami. Plus, if you watch the "In season" Hard Knocks on HBO, you know they have one of the best coaches in the league. We will need every bit of our scheming, grit, and hard nose defense to stop Tua, Tyreek and Waddle. If we are victorious, we lock up the #1 seed in the AFC and first round bye! Should be a very entertaining game!!

Happy New Years to everyone out in BCP+ land from everyone at KeehNation! May this coming year bring you all that you deserve.
