The historically bitter rivalry started with the Steelers' first playoff win over the Raiders by way of Franco Harris' Immaculate Reception on December 23, 1972. The two teams met in the playoffs for five consecutive seasons (1972–76), an NFL record that has yet to be matched. The series was regarded as one of the fiercest rivalries in the history of professional sports, especially in the 1970s.

1973 AFC Divisional Round: Raiders won: 33–14

1976 AFC Championship: Raiders won: 24–7
1983 AFC Divisional Round: Raiders won: 38–10
Now let’s get to last Sunday's game:
The Steelers were entering the game at 3-2 but coming off a loss to the Dallas cowboys. A game that we lost in the last seconds. It was a frustrating loss especially because of how incredibly well our defense played.
The Raiders on the other hand came into the game 2-3 and just benched their starting QB Minshew and we’re now starting Aiden O’Connell.
This felt like an important game momentum wise for both teams could the Pittsburgh Steelers keep Justin Fields on the field as the starter ? Could the raiders turn around their season with a new QB under center ?

This isn’t going to be a play by play from me this week.
I’m sure Mike Mueller will have that covered, maybe even a sad poem to go along with it.

Instead what I’m gonna do is fan out for a change ! This was the first time all year that I really got to enjoy myself watching a Steelers game. Sure it was a little tight at halftime only being up 12-7, but the second half we BLEW THE DOORS off the building.
Speaking of the building, this was a Steelers home game despite being on the road. There was more Steeler fans in the crowd then there were raiders fans and that thing a lot because the Raiders actually have a loyal fan base.
This isn’t being biased, just a straight up fact. The Pittsburgh Steelers have the best traveling fan based in the entire league and we always have.

we took over Las Vegas. It was a beautiful site !

TJ Watt took over this game like we all knew he would.

5 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 tackles for a loss.

This is gonna sound like a shot, but I don’t mean for it to be. I actually really like him but again the truth is just the truth.
Maxx Crosby isn’t on TJ’s level, for a week leading up to the game I had to read and hear people comparing the two players…
TJ is the best defensive player in the league.
Maxx is good he just isn’t on an elite level.
The Steelers took this game back to the 70s. It was all about running the ball down the Raiders throat and playing incredible defense and that’s exactly what we did.
Harris had 14 carries for 106 yards and one touchdown. Justin Fields had two rushing touchdowns himself.
The Steelers pass offense is still struggling, but it was good to see the running game come alive ! But the hero’s of this game PER USUAL was the Steelers defense.
Forcing 3 turnovers and holding the raiders to only 13 points.
This was a great day to be wearing the black and yellow, and not the silver and black.
The only thing that got raided on this day was Allegiant stadium.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 4-2 and are in second place in the AFC North. Our next game is against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.
