The Year of Vicious:

Vicious Vicki Interview

The proverbial Queen Midas of the Northeast Independents, Vicious Vicki hasn't been without championship gold since 2019, at one point holding championships for six different promotions simultaneously.  2023 has been a milestone year for the Vicious one as she has worked at both AEW and WWE, not to mention starring alongside Matt Cardona in The Last Match: A Pro Wrestling Rock Musical.  BCP+ sat down with Vicki to ask about her journey and conversely, her future in the business.

You've already had experience being on national TV with WWE, and more recently have been involved with WWE live events in Albany and Baltimore. What has that handful of experiences been like, and is that somewhere you would like to end up one day?

WWE is by far the ultimate goal for me. Although, I’m more than open to any of the major companies these days, considering how blessed we are with nonstop wrestling. My experiences with WWE have always been pleasant and exhilarating. In 2019 I flew myself out to Orlando with under a year experience just to be an extra on NXT when months later I was getting a WWE tryout opportunity. All insane things. I’ve been backstage maybe about 7 times including my most recent bouts. Each time I go there, I never want to leave. I think that says a lot in itself.

Conversely, what was it like with the seemingly now unstoppable Athena at AEW in Bridgeport, CT?

Working with Athena was an absolute honor. Her work has always spoken for itself when it comes to her in in ring ability and it factor. I personally feel she is one of the better women’s wrestlers out there today and I’m super grateful I was able to work with her. Although my match wasn’t aired, there is raw footage out there, a graphic, and an insane experience I’ll never forget. I hope to be back at AEW again someday soon.

You recently starred alongside Matt Cardona in The Last Match: A Pro Wrestling Rock Musical. You're obviously use dto the wrestling aspect, but what was it like taking in that theater experience? Would you like to do more acting?

The Last Match is like NOTHING I’ve ever experienced or even came close to thinking of experiencing. Watching the two worlds of Broadway and Pro Wrestling colliding in an absolute stellar mash up exceeded all expectations I had. I’m excited for what’s to come with The Last Match and getting stunned by Cardona was definitely top 5 career moments for me.

You've worked with Athena, Matt Cardona, The Renegade Twins, Maven, Sienna, and many other names. Who else would you like to work with?

I want to work with the top women’s talent out there today. The amount of talented women (and men) in today's industry is absolutely incredible. I love to be challenged, and a few dream opponents I can name off the top of my head would be Lita, Kilynn King, Lady Frost, Deonna Purrazzo, just to name a few.

Your thoughts on potentially holding a Heavyweight Championship for a promotion one day?

It’s 2023 and I believe women holding heavyweight gold is more accepted and also more realistic than it used to be. I was always under the old school impression that’s for the boys, but girls can kick ass too and I’m up for the challenge in any company that knows I’m worthy of holding such prestige!

What are the short term goals to round out 2023, and the longterm goals overall?

Short term goals to round out 2023 would be to see my history and resume make a PWI list. To see my name in there with match results is awesome, I can’t imagine the feeling of being a featured wrestler. Long term goal is to make my dream come true, and test myself in more ways than one. I want to be signed, because I know that’s where I am supposed to be. On the grandest stage. It will happen soon because I believe in myself.
