Dear BCP+,

 

For over a decade, I've been on a journey through the electrifying world of professional wrestling. From humble beginnings; wrestling in front of 4 fans to getting punched in the face by a tribal chief in front of millions. I've seen it al. The soaring highs & the gut-wrenching lows. My name is TJ, and I'm not just a pro wrestler; I'm a storyteller, a fighter, and a witness to the relentless grind that happens beyond what you see on social media & inside the ring.

In the glitz & glamour of televised wrestling events in packed arenas, it's easy to get caught up in the spectacle. But beneath all that is....the world of "THE INDIES" or Independent Wrestling. The "minor leagues" of the wrestling you see on TV/Stream etc. Away from those roaring packed crowds, lies a world that's raw, gritty, and unapologetically real.

I'm embarking on a mission to shed light on the realities that independent wrestlers like me face day in and day out. This isn't just a sneak peek behind the curtain – but a tell all that of the trials and triumphs, the sacrifices and setbacks, & all for a lack of better words, "THE NONSENSE" that we deal with.

It's easy to assume that success in pro wrestling is solely based on talent & athleticism. While these elements are undeniably crucial, they're merely the tip of the iceberg & not enough to "make it".

​

Independent wrestlers grapple with more than just opponents in the ring; we grapple with opponents in the locker room, social media drama, financial struggles, different "types of promoters" to suck up to (I will be going into more detail on that in a future letter) and the constant pursuit of OPPORTUNITY.

​

I want to pull back the curtain not to reveal secrets as others have done before, but to show you the heart and soul that goes into making a name in an industry that demands everything we have to give.

This "open letter" is my way of breaking down the misconceptions and shining a light on the untold stories that often go unnoticed. I want to share the reality of what it takes to forge a path in pro wrestling, from the local circuits to the mainstream stages.

I invite you to join me as I unravel the layers, expose the challenges, and celebrate the relentless spirit that keeps us going.

So, to all the pro wrestling fans & wrestlers who have cheered me, booed me, tried to sabotage me, or helped me over the last decade, join me as I expose the highs, the lows, and everything in between, revealing what truly defines a pro wrestler and the path we tread.
