YAZ'S NFL TOP 10 WEEK 11

-Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor

My top ten NFL teams after week 11.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (9-1)- It wasn’t a pretty win. The Eagles STRUGGLED to score in the first half, but they scored late and got extremely lucky that KC’s receivers kept dropping passes! The Chiefs had the game won if not for a dropped catch, but a win is a win. Eagles remain on top.

2. San Francisco 49ers (7-3)- The 49ers did let the Bucs hang around more than it looked like they would early in the game, but they still cruised to a relatively easy win in Week 11. Brock Purdy had a perfect passer rating in the game, throwing for 333 yards and three touchdowns on just 25 attempts. Over the last five games (a span that includes two of their losses) Purdy has averaged 10 yards per attempt. As long as they can avoid turnovers, this offense is nearly impossible to stop, and the defense has bounced back. They jumped some teams with equally good wins this week because this once again looks like the team that crushed the Cowboys and was rightfully No. 1 in these rankings!

3. Baltimore Ravens (8- 3)- The number one seed in the AFC! The Ravens got a big win against the Bengals and now have the best record in the conference after the Chiefs lost.

4. Detroit Lions (8-2) - The Lions are 8-2 for the first time since 1968! That’s mind boggling. The Lions also were losing to the Bears and it looked like the game was certainly over, but Detroit found a way! This team doesn’t quit. They scored 17 points in 3 mins!

5. Dallas Cowboys (7-3)- They allowed the game to stay close for too long, but the Cowboys easily pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 33-10 win over the Panthers. Dallas gets the Commanders on Thanksgiving before the schedule gets a lot tougher. From Week 13 to 17, they play the Seahawks, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, and Lions. Dallas will need Dak Prescott to keep up his recent excellent form during that run.

6. Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)- This team was a couple dropped passes away from beating the Eagles and remaining the top seed in the AFC. The offensive concerns that have plagued this team since their blowout of the Bears were on full display in the second half. The offense went punt, punt, fumble, punt, punt, turnover on downs on their second-half possessions. They have not scored in the second half of a game since their fourth-quarter touchdown against the Chargers back in Week 7. That stat would have changed if Marquez Valdes-Scantling held onto what could have been a game-winning touchdown catch.

7. Miami Dolphins (7-3) - I’m still waiting for this team to prove they belong in the Super Bowl discussion. They beat the teams they should but can’t beat the tough teams they have played so far.

8. Cleveland Browns (7-3)- I don’t have to like them, but the Browns defense is something special. They got the win against an equally inept offense, but what we saw on Sunday cannot continue if the Browns want to be real contenders. Dorian Thompson-Robinson averaged just 3.8 yards per attempt – the same as Kenny Pickett in a game that made my eyes burn – and the team managed 3.5 yards per play. The Panthers and Giants, the two worst offenses in the league this season, have averaged 4.1 yards per play for the year. The Browns signed Joe Flacco to the practice squad. He was rough last season with the Jets, but Cleveland has to try something…

9. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)- This team really is confusing. One week they look like world beaters, the next they look average. This week they looked like a SB contender. If this team can remain consistent, they could be a real threat against anyone in the AFC.

10. Houston Texans (6-4) - Thry have the best rookie quarterback in the last 10 years, maybe more. This kid is a complete stud. He’s obviously gonna win Rookie of the Year and you can make a case that he’s at least top-five in the MVP discussion!

It’s only 11 weeks into the season and we have a LOT of football left to be played… Who’s in your top 10 this week ?
