What We Know About WWE 2K26 So Far

- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief

WWE 2K continues to raise the bar with the latest announcements regarding the 2026 installment in the series featuring WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as this year’s cover star. The game, which releases on March 13th, features several additional editions including the King of Kings Edition, The Attitude Era Edition, and The Monday Night War Edition.

From first glance at the official game trailer, which dropped during Saturday’s Royal Rumble a few things initially stood out. The addition of Booker T on commentary is absolutely amazing and much needed. The Joe Hendry addition is something fans will be looking forward to, in what was announced as a pre-order “Joe Hendry Pack.” Create-a-Spectacle has my attention as it looks like we have an exciting new create mode to look forward to. The apparent return of last year’s The Island provides a supernatural, more open world, player interactive environment, giving players something other to do than just straight up matches. This was a nice addition creatively last year, and was an immersive WWE fantasy land chock full of easter eggs, unlockables, tributes, and more.

2K states that this year’s installment will feature over 400+ WWE Superstars & Legends!! I can only imagine what surprises are in store, and how the TNA partnership may play a role. The Attitude Era theme seems to bring back old fan favorite attires for classic acts like the Dudleys, Kane & Taker, & more. Other confirmed Attitude Era legends include Stone Cold, The Rock, Trish Stratus, Lita, Chyna, Kurt Angle, HBK & more. Matches like Coffin Matches, Inferno Matches, and TLCs seem to be returning as well.

Multiple attires and versions of CM Punk are shown throughout the trailer, and with Chicago Phil being on the cover, you know there’s going to be a showcase mode featuring the self-proclaimed Best in the World. Via 2k,“Rewrite history and relive CM Punk’s greatest rivalries, battle through fantasy warfare matchups, check out a new way to play showcase in a custom gauntlet mode, and more.” Fans are speculating that this may allow for superstars like Jeff Hardy (TNA) to be able to be a part of the game, as his feud with Punk was a memorable one.

WWE 2K is scrapping DLC in this version, instead moving forward with Battle Passes leaving fans cautiously optimistic about how this will play out, and moreso WHO? WHO? WHO? (in New Day fashion) will be included in which Battle Passes.

Create modes return with over 200 save slots, 2-tone hair blending, expanded image capacity, and deeper body and face morphing. Your Create A Wrestler can once again take a journey through MYRise with two custom story modes. Fan favorite modes likes MyGM, WWE Universe, and MYFACTION return as well for fans who want to take control of their own personal WWE world.
