RODGERS GETS HIS FIRST WIN AS A JET
- Tom Mele, Contributor
The Jets held off the Tennesse Titans 24-17, behind the resilient play of QB Aaron Rodgers as the team in green evened their record at 1-1.
Rodgers 18/30 for 176yrds and two scores made all the important throws when it counted in this defensive battle. The Jets managed only 265 yards of total offense and some of the fans are wishing for a more aggressive approach as Awesome Amy complained, "They need to throw the ball more on first down! pass..pass...pass".
Last week Gang Green missed more tackles than any other team and adjustments were made as the Titans were limited to 300 total yards and more importantly forced into three turnovers which resulted in 17 points. RB Breece Hall accumulated 62 yards on the ground and 52 in the air and RB Braelon Allen scored once on the ground and in the air.
The defense took a hit with injuries to middle linebacker C.J. Mosley (injured toe) and defensive end Jermaine Johnson (right Achillies tendon). Johnson was replaced by former first round pick Will McDonald IV and the 2nd year player responded with three of the team's four sacks. No word if either Mosley or Johnson will be available for the quick turnaround on Thursday when the Jets have their home opener against division rival New England.
