"WELCOME THE JOE NAMATH CURSE"
- Tom Mele, Contributor
Jets faithful , allow me to introduce longtime Jets fan Brent Struble and his take on the Jets vs Seahawks.
Take it away Brent:
"Win and your team may never prosper again until your demise” the devil said to Joe Namath January 12, 1969. From the Book of Ewbank.
The Jets are cursed. Theres no way this is not the ultimate truth. There's no way, Mark Sanchez (Former NYJ 1st rd pick) calls the game on Fox, that Geno Smith (Former NYJ 2nd rd pick) beats the Jets at Metlife while Leonard Williams (Former NYJ 1st rd pick) scores his first NFL TD (and 2 sacks on Aaron Rodgers) on a 92 yard pick-6 (Longest in NFL history by a player over 300lbs), after the Jets 4th kicker of the season, recovered a fumbled kickoff return (2nd of the first half for the Jets btw) after we just took a kickoff return for a touchdown to go back up 2 scores in the 2nd qtr. (Whew, that was a lot to say)
The Jets were up 21-16 at the half but didn’t score again and Gang Green lost 26-21 dropping their record to 3-9 and securing a 9th consecutive losing season. The Defense allowing 13 plays of 10+ yards while another former Jets first round pick Sam Darnold (Former NYJ 1st rd pick) led the Vikings to a
win and a 10-2 record.
Thank you Brent for sharing your thoughts this week and we will look forward to hearing more from you and any other frustrated Jets fans in the final weeks of the season.
