RAVENS Roll Over The Detroit Lions
-Frank Leon, Contributor
The Lions lost for the second time this season in a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens 38-6. The Ravens were able to throw all over the Lions and then chipped away the rest of the game by running the ball.
This was the first time the Lions gave up over 100 yards rushing this season (146) and Lamar Jackson showed why he is a perennial MVP candidate.
The Lions defense could not get to Lamar who threw for 357 yards and 3 TDs, 2 of which were to star TE Mark Andrews. The Ravens were up 28-0 at the half and the passing game just needed to relax after halftime otherwise the numbers would've kept going up.
The rushing attack was the best the Lions have faced this year, led by Jackson and Gus Edwards and Justice Hill averaging 11 a carry. Rookie Zay Flowers continues to be impressive in getting open with his crisp routes. The Lion's offense struggled throughout the game and were only able to put up yards after the game was fully out of reach.
Goff was pressured all game long and threw a pick. Amon-Ra St Brown had another 100 yard game because that's what he does. Jahmyr Gibbs was the lead back due to injuries and was able to get 120 total yards and his first career rushing TD as well. Sam Laporta also was able to put up good numbers with 6 catches for 52 yards as his impressive historical rookie season continues.
The Lions next take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night football. The Lions remain in first in the NFC North and the Raiders are now 3-4 after a loss to the Chicago Bears.
