Jets Need To "Shake it Off"

-Tom Mele, Contributor

Sunday Night Prime Time against the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) the Jets (1-3) knew they had their work cut out for them, but what was not expected was the media circus that came as well as mega super star recording artist Taylor Swift was in attendance to support her boyfriend
TE Travis Kelce.

Aaron Rodgers was also in attendance after getting cleared to fly to MetLife from LA where he continues to recover from his season opening ruptured Achilles. Rodgers said he hopes to return this season as his stiches were just removed.

The Jets fell to the Chiefs 23-20 and there is a lot to unravel. First the accolades as Patrick Mahomes became the fastest QB to ever throw for 200 TD’s, and Andy Reid secured his 250 th career coaching win tying him with Cowboys legend Tom Landry 4th all time.

The Jets started the night down 17-0 before the defense stiffened and held Mahomes to only 203 yards passing. The Jets have the longest streak in the NFL at holding opposing QB’s to under 300 yards (9 games)

Mahomes was forced into two interceptions and a third one was negated by a penalty, but the Jets were burnt by Mahomes with his ability to scramble for 51 yds. Late in the game on a 34d and 22, Mahomes
sprinted down the field for 25 yards when the Jets were in a prevent. Mahomes also converted on 3rd and 8 to end the game as the Chiefs salted away the last 7:24.

Zach Wilson played inspired ball, going 28-39 for 245yds and two tds and no ints. Wilson also converted
a gutsy two-point conversion to tie the game at 20.

The game turned when Wilson took his eyes off the snap and fumbled back to the Chiefs as they were driving at midfield with 7:24 left.

Isiah Pacheco a local NJ product from Rutgers led the Chiefs with 20 carries for 115 yds and a td which
helped as Mahomes was pressured into making sloppy decisions.

Next week the Jets fly to Denver (1-3) to take on the Broncos whose coaching staff threw some shade at
NY’s during the summer. Sounds like a grudge match game as the Jets look to start a winning streak in
hopes of making a run to the playoffs.
