YAZ'S NFL TOP 10 WEEK 9
-Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor
Time for my ninth week of the 2023 weekly NFL TOP TEN. If you aren’t in the top 10, you aren’t a SB contender. With that being said here’s my rankings for this week. My top ten NFL teams after week 9:
1. Baltimore Ravens (7-2) - The way this team handled The Lions and then the Seahawks in back to back weeks is BEYOND impressive. The question keeps getting asked, “Are the ravens the best team in the AFC?” No, they are the best team in the league PERIOD.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1)- The Eagles proved that my one seed curse wasn’t real. You might be asking then why did Philly drop a spot despite not losing ? If you're not biased, go look at what Baltimore has done in the last two weeks and conversely what The Eagles have done. Tell me which looks like the better team. The one team who’s DOMINATING playoff teams or the other team who just barely beat Washington and Dallas.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) - They come off their bye with a huge game against the 49ers at home. That is a proving game of sorts in terms of the national stage. The Jags are currently on a 5 game win streak. Can they make it to six ?
4. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) - We are half way though the season and some how The Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC currently. I personally believe that The Ravens are better but obviously the champs are the team to beat. The AFC Championship will most likely go through KC per usual.
5. Cincinnati Bengals (5-3) - Joe Burrow is back. He picked apart the Bills on Monday night, but it's how he moved that tells us he's healthy again. The slow start seems like a long time ago. The Bengals vs. The Eagles was my Pre-season Super Bowl pick. Cincinnati is proving they are indeed worth that prediction.
6. Detroit Lions (6-2) - Lions are coming off a bye and will face the chargers next.
7. Dallas Cowboys (5-3)- Dallas took Philly to the limit. There was some awful calls that went against them. But Dallas still had their chance to win the game with 3 trips to the redzone in the 4th quarter and only coming out with 6 points. Dak played well though and that’s a good sign.
8. Miami Dolphins (6-3)- Super Bowl frauds. They have to show they can beat a good team. It hasn't happened yet, so the questions are still there. They have 9 more weeks to prove they aren’t fraud, but currently they are.
9. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)- This team is coming off a bye and it comes at the best time possible since they have lost 3 games in a row. They added Chase Young so hopefully he can help fix some things for their defense.
10. Cleveland Browns (5-3) - the best defense in all of the NFL. The defense just dominated The Cardinals in shutting them out with seven sacks. They didn't really need Deshaun Watson back, even though he did play. If this offense can get rolling this team could be scary.
It’s only nine weeks into the season and we have a LOT of football left to be played. Who’s in your top 10 this week ?
