YANKEES PULL OUT THE WIN AGAINST LUGO & THE ROYALS TO TAKE SERIES LEAD

In game 3 of the ALDS Clarke Schmidt faced off against Seth Lugo. Both pitchers gave up 2 runs each. Schmidt pitched 4 and 2/3 innings and Lugo pitched 5 innings. The bullpens battled out the rest of the game. The Yankees scored first on a RBI double by Giancarlo Stanton in the fourth inning and Juan Soto hit a RBI sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. The Royals tied the game in the fifth inning. Kyle Isbel hit a RBI double and Michael Massey hit a RBI triple.
Stanton came through and hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Yankees the lead. Luke Weaver pitched the eighth and ninth innings and fended off the Royals in 5 outs.
The Yankees won 3-2 and now lead the series 2-1.
Bobby Witt Jr. got his first hit of the series in this game and Aaron Judge continued to struggle at the plate going 0-4 with one walk.
Tonight the Yankees can clinch the division with Gerrit Cole on the mound against Michael Wacha.
