GETTING CLOSER TO THE FINISH

The DC Defenders are past making the playoffs but could we at least win these last two games and finish 5-5 for the season? Let’s find out in this week's recap.
The Defenders' aggressiveness on their opening drive paid dividends. The squad opted to go for it on an early fourth-down play, and found paydirt when QB Jordan Ta’amu hooked up with Chris Rowland for the score.Keke Coutee continued his hot streak, proving his reliability as a runner on this 5-yard scamper into the end zone to extend the Defenders' lead early in the second quarter.
Darivius Victor lower body strength helped him play his way into the end zone for Memphis' first points following a clutch interception just ahead of halftime.The Defenders launched right back into the driver's seat on their last drive of the first half, going 61 yards in seven plays to take a commanding lead.Jordan Ta’amu added a rushing score to his pair of passing touchdowns on the day on this short scamper up the middle. Vinny Papale sniffed out the pylon yet again as he rattled off this impressive catch-and-run to bring Memphis within 17 early in the fourth quarter.
QB Josh love did his best Philadelphia eagles impersonation on this QB sneak that brought Memphis within two possessions late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback, and things ended there. Jordan Ta'amu put on a show vs The Showboats with 275 Total Yards and 3 TDs.
