SMACKDOWN 11/17/23

The Smackdown announce team tonight had a special announcer in WWE HOF'er, The Road Dogg Jesse James.

Smackdown opens with Damage Ctrl declaring they are just here to have some fun and "Welcome to Smackdown!" Bayley declares that her plan to bring Asuka into Damage Ctrl is the best idea in WWE, and that they are the strongest faction in WWE. The three Japanese superstars are speaking in Japanese, when Bayley looks confused and asked, "Did I miss something?" 

Dakota Kai clears the air and says, "This isnt the new and improved Damage Ctrl, because someone in this ring isnt a part of the new and improved Damage Ctrl."

This statement leaves Bayley confused cause she thought she was being kicked out by the look on her face. Dakota Kai cleared the air again. "Dude, Asuka isn't a part of Damage Ctrl yet because we haven't let her in yet." Bayley got down on one knee and asked Asuka to join Damage Ctrl, promising to get them on the T-Shirt later. Dakota says, "Iyo said they should challenge Shotzi, Bianca and Charlotte to find a fourth member and meet them in WAR GAMES!" Bayley again looked really confused and declares that she was gonna say the exact same thing. 

​

Shotzi's music hits and the TCB Tank rolls out minus Shotzi. While the five women are in the ring, Shotzi comes from behind and attacks Damage Ctrl without any help. Damage Ctrl quickly got the advantage until Bianca and Charlotte get down to the ring to save Shotzi. Damage Ctrl gave the three ladies the business with the numbers game playing in their favor.

Backstage Segment 

Bianca is explaining to Shotzi that they have to pick their time and place for fights because Damage Ctrl has the numbers advantage. Shotzi apologies about being impulsive and attacking Damage Ctrl without thinking about it. Charlotte then promises Shotzi that Damage Ctrl will get their receipt. Bianca tells Charlotte that she knows someone who can help and then says, "I'm going recruiting." Nick Aldis tells the three ladies he wanted to know the fourth before the end of the night.

Match 1 Triple Threat Tag Match 

Street Profits vs. Brawling Brutes vs. Pretty Deadly 

This was a hard hitting triple threat between these three teams and was total chaos at times. We saw all three teams hitting double team moves and multiple false finishes. A miscommunication between the Brawling Brutes and a nasty brogue kick to Ridge from Butch led to a Revelation from the Profits on Ridge for a big win. 

Winner: Street Profits

Backstage Segment 

We see Bianca talking to Michin about joining herself, Charlotte and Shotzi for their War Games match up at Survivor Series. 

​

Back from the commercial break we see Damage Ctrl jumping Michin before WWE officials could break it up. WWE officials were calling for medical and looks like Michin isn't making it to Survivor Series. 

​

After the mugging of Michin by Damage Ctrl, they rolled into a video package of last weeks Smackdown that saw the LWO crumbling at the seams thanks to Santos Escobar's jealousy. WWE then showed a social media post from Rey Mysterio announcing he under went successful knee surgery. 

​

Match 2 

Dragon Lee vs. Axiom (NXT) 

Both these superstars admire Rey Mysterio and became wrestlers because of Rey Mysterio so this match is set to be a banger of a match between two of WWE's young luchadores. This match gave you everything you would expect from a high flying luchadore match. Dragon Lee finished Axiom with the "Operation Dragon" and earned a hard fought win. 

Winner: Dragon Lee

Back from the break, Santos Escobar comes to the ring to explain why he attacked Rey Mysterio. Santos starts by saying there is something he needs to get off his chest. The crowd immediately gave him the Dom Mysterio treatment. 

​

He says, "Never meet your heroes.", He comes from a long line of luchadores who have been labled, heroes and he modeled his style after Rey. He goes on to say that Dom Mysterio was right and starts making accusation of how Rey betrayed him by taking over the LWO and becoming U.S. Champion. 

​

Santos Escobar says some nasty things, that even I'm not gonna repeat. The LWO was watching from the backstage area, when Zelina has decided she had heard enough and goes to the ring and confronts Santos. They are going back and forth when Zelina had heard enough and slaps the taste out of Santos' mouth. This brought out the rest of the LWO, Legado del Fantasma (LdF) and Santos declares they are done and jumps them from behind. Carlito makes his way to the ring and Santos high tails it out of the ring.

Match 3 

Grayson Waller vs. Cameron Grimes 

Austin Theory joins the announce team during this match-up. This match was a one sided affair as Grayson controlled the match with Cameron making some offense along the way. It was Austin Theory's outside interference that gave the Aussie Superstar the victory. 

Winner: Grayson Waller

Backstage Segment 

We see Zelina talking to Bianca Belair about joining their team for War Games at Survivor Series. Zelina looks to be onboard. 

 

Back from the commercial break, Damage Ctrl had done the damage and Zelina was taken out.

 

WWE shows a video package of Crown Jewel and Solo Sikoa taken out John Cena. 

 

After the video package, Solo, Jimmy and Paul Heyman are waiting in the ring.  Paul Heyman is on the mic announcing that the beating to John Cena was from the Island of Relevancy and that John will never appear on WWE again. 

​

Paul Heyman is giving John Cena the works on the mic and then sends him off with a good-bye from the Bloodline. He then says this is the point in which, 3, 2, 1 that John Cena's music hits and he slides into the ring and delivers the five moves of doom on each of them and stands in the ring to your cheers but that ain't happening because John Cena isn't here.

 

LA Knight's music hits and comes to interrupt Paul on the mic. LA Knight is talking about how Roman is still champion because of Jimmy Uso and that he has a problem solver named LA Knight. LA goes on to do a jingle about "Jimbo Uso" and makes his way to the ring for the main event. 

 

Back from the commercial break Charlotte, Shotzi and Bianca are discussing they were out of options as partners and Charlotte needed to make the call to her mystery friend. 

​

Main Event 

LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso 

As the match is starting, we learn that Paul received a phone call and after the call Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa then left the ring area for Jimmy's match. The match start and LA is giving Jimmy Uso a beating and seeing very little from Jimmy. LA Knight controlled the match start to finish and it looked like Jimmy may make a comeback until LA Knight hits a BFT for the victory.

​

After the match Solo Sikoa makes his way to the ring and Jimmy pushes LA out of the ring to be hit by a Samoan Spike. As the Bloodline is beating on LA, Cody's music hits and he comes out to save LA Knight from the Bloodline. 

Winner: LA Knight

Backstage Segment 

After the match, WWE cut backstage and Charlotte, Bianca and Shotzi are walking towards the ring asking Charlotte if she made the call. Charlotte says, "Yes, but I don’t know if she will make it in time." 

 

Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes are talking and Nick says Cody needs to leave. Cody apologizes before leaving. 

​

Bianca, Charlotte and Shotzi make their way out to the ring for their showdown with Damage Ctrl. Charlotte is on the mic and says she knows a thing or two about turning on a best friend and there's a thin line between love and hate. Iff they are going to war there is only one person...

 

Damage Ctrl's music hits and Bayley has a mic declaring they have taken out everyone that would side with them. There is no number in Charlotte's phone because she is an idiot and a loser. Bayley declares they aren't going to make it to War Games but the crowd goes wild as Becky Lynch sneaks in from the back. The teams are even and a melee ensues.
