Lights! Camera! Action!

This week the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Los Angeles Rams.
SERIES RECORD: Rams lead 15-10-2.
LAST MEETING: Steelers beat Rams 17-12 on Nov. 10, 2019, in Pittsburgh.
The Rams have dominated as the home team in the series, posting a 11-2-1 record. This will be the Steelers' first game against the Rams in Los Angeles since they returned to the West Coast in 2016. Pittsburgh has split two games against the Chargers in Los Angeles in front of decidedly Pro-Steelers crowds Pittsburgh has won the past four games in the series dating to 2007.
The Steelers have yet to beat the Los Angeles Rams when the franchise is based in LA (0-10)…..until Sunday. The Rams are a tough team that not so long ago could call themselves the world champions ! (For the record how is winning a
Super Bowl a “world championship”? You didn’t play any other countries lol)
Nonetheless, this was going to be a tough game. The Rams can do one thing that the Steelers usually can’t. Score points. The one thing going into our favor. We were coming off a bye week.
The Steelers are 22-12 all-time coming off a bye and have won six straight after their off week since 2017. Pittsburgh is 11-9 all-time on the road after a bye, including a 6-3 mark under head coach Mike Tomlin.
Just like a Hollywood more this game would have a bunch of twist and turns, it would also have some drama and controversy.
The Rams had a 9-3 lead into halftime and it looked like it would be ANOTHER WEEK of the Steelers having a difficult time scoring. Looks like once again we would win thanks to our defense.
But then the movie magic happened. The Steelers offense CAME ALIVE during the second half (IT’S ALIVE !!!!) Kenny Pickett passed for 230 yards and ran for a score for the Steelers, who had just 110 yards in the first three quarters at SoFi Stadium. Matt Canada had seemingly found some holes in the Ram’s defense in the fourth quarter which allowed two TDs and the chance to run out the clock. .
Then the HOLLYWOOD DRAMA SHOW would start…
It was 24 -17 steelers and Pittsburgh was going to go for it on fourth down to try and end the game. The Steelers decided to keep the game in Kenny’s hand and he went for it on a QB sneak.
Did Kenny Pickett make it on his QB sneak to end the game ?
Well, the NFL officials said he did ! And because it was under two mins there would be no review.
The Los Angeles Rams were furious and claimed Kenny didn’t make it. They claimed the Rams should have had the ball with a chance to tie. But, the Steelers got the first down and ran the clock down to zero.
Both the Steelers and the Rams knew this intense game was not going to be decided by a questionable fourth-down call at the two-minute warning.
Obviously, Los Angeles wasn’t thrilled about the officials decision. But, Pittsburgh was definitely not going to question it considering their impressive comeback.
"I was getting it,” Pickett said. "I was doing whatever I could to get it, let’s put it that way.”
Coach Sean McVay couldn’t challenge the spot because the Rams were out of timeouts, and the play occurred just outside the window that would have allowed for a booth review.
“It doesn’t matter what I think", McVay said. "That was the spot they made. I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses about stuff that didn’t go down. Those plays shouldn’t have come down to that if we executed like we were capable of.”
Pittsburgh’s first touchdown came after T.J. Watt was able to intercept Stafford’s first pass of the second half making it a career best 24-yard interception. That set up Pickett’s 1-yard sneak to get The Steelers their first rushing touchdown of the season.
Yes, it took the Steelers 7 weeks to finally score a rushing touchdown.
Then Jayleen Warren and Najee Harris rushed for touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and the Steelers awoke from a quiet offensive day just in time to grab a 24-17 victory over the Rams.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 4-2 on the season.
Steelers: Host Jacksonville next Sunday.
