MAGIC IN BIRDLAND
- Wayne Keehner, Contributor
It was just a few days removed from the horrible tragedy of the Francis Scott Key bridge being destroyed. I'm sure I speak for the entire BCP+ family when I say that our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the tragedy on Tuesday morning. While nothing can erase those images from our minds, the fact that it's once again baseball season in Baltimore absolutely helps some.

The Orioles historically are 46 wins and 25 losses on Opening day games. Stretching their streak to 11 wins out of the last 14 openers with an 11 - 3 win over the Angels on Thursday.

Coming off an incredible regular 2023 season just to be crushed in the playoffs, the Orioles picked up right where they left off. Newly acquired Ace Corbin Burnes pitched 6 fantastic innings allowing only just one run.

The bats were hot as Rutschman accounted for 3 runs and 2 RBIs. Additionally, Santander and Mullins were both able to go yard!

So after 30 years of previous ownership, the Orioles have a new owner in Rubenstein, fresh young talent on the mound and behind the plate, with a new sense of excitement and magic in Birdland!
So until the next game on Saturday, this is Wayne saying "Ain't the Beer Cold?" And.....
