YAZ'S NFL TOP 10 WEEK 7
-Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor
Time for my seventh week of the 2023 weekly NFL TOP TEN. This is my opinion and it changes every week based on how teams performed. Again, I’m only ranking the top ten teams in the league. If you aren’t in the top 10 you aren’t a SB contender. We are off to a wild start to the season!
With that being said here’s my rankings for this week. My top ten NFL teams after week 7.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) - I said last week that despite winning their games, something felt off. The aura was gone. I was just straight up wrong. Now we just have bad blood, don’t we? (T-swift reference)
2. Baltimore ravens (5-2) - The ravens made me look foolish, but to be fair I did say I had the Lions at one because I was partially biased. that biased bit me on the ass when the Ravens kicked the Lions teeth in.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (6-1) - The officiating in this game was god awful. but regardless the Eagles won and have the best record in the NFC. On the plus side I LOVE the Kelly greens and wish they would keep them forever.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) - Don’t look now…but the Jags are quietly, having quite the run. They won two games in England came back to America and won another one. I’m still not blown away by anything this team does but hey winning is winning right?
5. Miami dolphins (5-2) - I think the Dolphins are good. They can only play who’s on their schedule, and their two losses have come on the road. BUT, Their five wins have come against teams with a combined 8-25 record, and all of those teams have two wins or fewer. Again, this team is most likely good, but there will be questions until they win one of these big games. They will get another shot in Week 9 against the Chiefs in Germany, but let’s say they lose that game. In which case, the Dolphins will fall into the pretender category.
6. Dallas Cowboys (4-2) - The team had a good win against the chargers and then had a bye. We Will see the real merit of this team when they play the Eagles in week nine.
7. San Francisco 49ers (5-2) - Some people might think going this far down the list after back to back losses is a little extreme and I’m not saying I don’t believe in the 49ers or I don’t think they’re a good team because I still think they are a good team, but the fact remains you lose back to back games against teams. You should’ve beat you’re gonna fall in the rankings.
8. Detroit Lions (5-2) - This has been my biggest drop in all of my rankings in the last 7 weeks. From 1 to 8. But that Loss to Baltimore was so embarrassing that they don’t deserve to be ranked any higher then this.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) - The offense still leaves a lot to be desired, but getting a win on the road against the Rams is a great result, especially since they had two good touchdown drives in the fourth quarter to make it happen. They also already have wins over the Browns and Ravens on their resume. It is hard to imagine this offense really pushing for the playoffs in a tough division, but they are in a great spot at 4-2.
10. Cleveland Browns (4-2) - The Browns got completely SAVED by bad calls. They should have lost that game to the colts no questions asked. But back to back BS flags got them a chance to win and they did. It’s only seven weeks into the season and we have a LOT of football left to be played.
Who’s in your top 10 this week ?
