RAVEN ABOUT THE NEW SEASON

- Wayne Keehner, Contributor

As we sit only about a week away from the 2024 NFL season opener, it's time to talk about what could be for the new look Baltimore Ravens. I was fortunate enough to get asked to do a small sound byte prediction for The Pop Break (.com)  so now I can dive a little deeper into what I feel will be a very pivotal year for Baltimore!

The Season opener against the Chiefs is approaching "Swiftly!" (See what I did there?) Unlike the Ravens, the Chiefs player their starters consistently throughout the pre-season. They do this every year and they win, it still makes me wonder why most teams don't follow the example!? The results of this Game will say alot in regards to how the Ravens season goes. I think we added some great weapons this off season.

Obviously King Henry will provide some veteran vision and power at running back, Wiggins will be a great compliment to the Defense which saw Patrick Queen go to their "Blood" rival, Steelers! Remember we also built "Baltimore West" by losing Edward's, Dobbins, Bozeman, Mason and Hurst to the Other Harbaugh and Roman in San Diego!

My prediction is we go 12-5 this season. We narrowly edge the Bengals for the AFC North and we make it to the AFC Championship. I think our lack of "Big Playmakers" at WR have us fall a bit short. The rookie Walker will be a great addition to our WR room of Flowers, Bateman and Agholor. I just don't think it will be enough! I truly hope I am wrong!

In the end, as always, the Ravens have all the potential to be as great as they allow themselves to be. With 2 time MVP, Jackson and the Best Kicker ever in Tucker, as long as we stay healthy and play disciplined, the sky is the limit! (Which is good, cause we are birds!) It should be a very entertaining season for Raven Nation and everyone around the league! I will talk to you all again after the Chiefs game where hopefully I am talking about the now 1 - 0 Ravens! Till next time.... Keehner Out!
