RODGERS/ADAMS CONNECTION LEADS JETS TO WIN

- Tom Mele, Contributor

The Jets scored on their opening drive for the first time all season. Aaron Rodgers threw for 289 yards and three touchdown passes and led the Jets in rushing yards with 45. Wide receiver Davante Adams, who was held without a single catch in the first half up would torch the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second half for nine receptions and 198 yards and two touchdowns.

The tandem has now connected 81 times for touchdowns, including the playoffs, which is now the fourth best all time by a quarterback and wide receiver, duo in NFL history. They are just one behind Miami’s, Dan Marino and Mark Clayton.

The Jets ended their four game losing streak by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 32 to 25 In sunny Florida. Gang Green moved to 4-10 but more importantly it showed what kind of magic both Rodgers and Adams can produce as it appears the remaining games left in the season will decide what the Jets do next year with both players. As of now combined they count for $52 million against the 2025 salary cap.

Before the season started this game look like a potential playoff matchup, but Jacksonville has fallen on hard times as their quarterback Trevor Lawrence is out for the season. The Jets faced quarterback, Mac Jones, who up until today was undefeated in six starts versus New York.

Jets fans are not getting too excited about this win and are more interested in what will be happening during this year‘s off-season. In fact, the whole NY/NJ area is waiting for the NFL season to end as both local teams have left this very large football fan base deflated.

Next week the Jets host the Los Angeles Rams. Keep it here on BCP+ for all your latest New York Jets coverage.
