STEELERS WEEK 2 RECAP
- Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor
This week, The Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Denver to face the Broncos. This would have been a REVENGE GAME for Russ if he was playing, but he wasn’t. Instead the Steelers featured Justin Fields’s second start in a row. Not for nothing but Justin had the best QBR of week one. It turns out that if you don’t throw often, but make the throws you do throw, it helps QBR tremendously. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty,
The offense didn’t look INCREDIBLE but it looked FAR BETTER then week one. Justin made some fantastic throws that got called back on penalties. That was a theme of the day unfortunately.
But once again the DNA of this team shined through. The defense held The Broncos only to 6 points.
Picking off their rookie QB Bo Nix twice, they had the kid in a blender all day.
Defensively, it was another impressive performance. This is one of the best defenses in the league, without question. We just need the offense to get some juice, but once again Justin looked way better. He went 13/20 117 yards and 1 touchdown
The running game is still not working, but hopefully we can work on that next game. We face the toughest team of our season yet next, when we face the 2-0 chargers. Can our defense unplug them ? Or will they light up the Steelers ?
We will find out next week when the battle of 2-0 vs. 2-0 happens !
This weeks final score: Steelers 13- broncos 6
