NEW PLAYER, NEW COACH, SAME OLD JETS

- Tom Mele, Contributor

Coming out of the two minute warning on Sunday Night, the Jets were leading the Steelers 15-6 with a first down at their own 30 yard line.  RB Breece Hall, was electric with 93 yards receiving from short passes from Aaron Rodgers. Earlier in the first quarter Hall sprung for a 13 yard TD run.  The Jets were moving freely in and out of the Pittsburg defense.

First play after the two minute warning was another successful run of six yards by Hall spotting the ball at the Jets 36 yard line. With 1:15 left in the half the Jets went to the line of scrimmage looking to use up as much time as possible while adding to their lead. Just one week before the Jets scored right at the end of half against the Buffalo Bills on a "Hail Mary" as time ran out. This week there was much more time to work with as Gang Green looked to add to their two score lead.

Aaron Rodgers came out of the huddle looking to stay aggressive and throw.  Lined up under Shotgun.  Aaron looked his left and saw recently acquired WR Davante Adams.  Rodgers and Adams are one of the most productive QB-WR duos in NFL history. In the slot position next to Adams is what many consider one of the brightest young stars in the NFL in WR Garrett Wilson. Lined up all the way to the left of Rodgers was RB Breece Hall who was slated to run a quick slant in. All the way to the right was longtime teammate WR Allen Lazard.

The ball was snapped to Rodgers who took two steps back and found himself under average pressure. Rodgers had time to throw.  Hall was open in the flat with room to run, Davante was streaking down the left side. Garrett Wilson was on a post pattern. A mere 2.5 seconds later Rodgers let go a laser beam to Wilson who was zone covered by three Steeler defenders. What happened after this is still a mystery to Jets fans all across the world.

Breece Hall gained only 10 yards receiving and 17 yards rushing after this.

Final Score:

Steelers 37

Jets 15

The Jets drop to 2-5.

Last season after seven games without Rodgers they were 4-3
