Big Brother Recap: A Haunting Few Weeks...
-Wayne Keehner, Contributor
I know it's been a few weeks since I last updated you on the Drama of Big Brother 25. In fact, some of the younger readers may even say that I 'Ghosted" you!? Which is totally appropriate based on the fact that recently Big Brother tapped into the "Scary-Verse" and nobody was ready for what that meant in the house!
When we last left in week 5, Jared came to power as the new H.O.H. He decided to nominate Cameron and Red for eviction. Cameron ended up winning the Power of Veto and took himself down which forced Jared to nominate Jag as a replacement nominee. Sadly, on his birthday week, Red was evicted from the house by an 8-2 vote. This is important because only Cameron and Bowie Jane voted to keep Red (As was the original plan) The rest of the house blindsided them by flipping the vote. This unlocked a new level of anger and attitude in Cameron that is absolutely insane as the season moves forward.
Right after the eviction is the HOH competition and the majority of the house needs anybody to win except Cameron, so of course, Cameron wins. What happens next is television gold, because he does not talk straight gameplay strategy to anybody. This not only leaves his housemates in the dark, but also the producers of the show. (Interesting subtext is that a ton of online fans feel like this season is rigged by the production staff to make it easier for Jared or Cirie to win in the end, for ratings.) So Cameron assures everyone that Jag and Blue are the targets, and everyone can relax. Even going as far as telling Jag and Blue that they will the nominees.
When the nomination ceremony rolls around, He shocks everyone by nominating Felicia and Izzy for eviction. (Yes, this is getting so good!) Jared wins the Veto competition (With special guest host Josh Duhamel, Plugging his new reality series "Buddy Games" which is also an awesome show, but that's another article.) He tells Cameron that he wants to use the veto to save Felicia, Cam says, no problem, then we can backdoor Cirie. 9Who we all know is Jared's mom, but Cameron does NOT.) Needless to say, the veto was not used and Izzy was voted out 8-1 after Cory and America flipped the house to save Felicia. (Now is when it starts to hit the fan)
Jared wins the next H.O.H. competition and nominates America and Cory (After their house flipping stunt to eliminate Izzy. Jag wins the Veto and takes Cory down which allows Jared to replace him with Cameron (Which was the backdoor plan all along.) Right before the live vote to evict the house finds out that the Scary-Verse has taken control of the game and tonight will be the first "Double eviction" of the season. (That means that another entire week of Big Brother will be played LIVE that night after the first eviction. It will be a live HOH, Nominations, Veto comp and second eviction.) So finally, Teflon Cam was proven to be human, and he was evicted by a vote of 8-0. Immediately upon meeting Julie, (The Host Outside) Cam is told that his game may not be over. (More details later) Cory won the H.O.H. comp that night and nominated Blue and Jared. Matt won the veto comp and Cory convinced him to not use it. Jared was evicted from the house by a vote of 6-1. (Of course, Cirie could not say his name.)
As Jared left the house, he was met by Julie and Cameron. They were both told that they would re-enter the house as B.B. Zombies. Thre would be no HOH this week or Veto, Next Thursday one of them would have a chance to win and fully re-enter the game while the other will be permanently eliminated.
Cameron and Jared competed in a 3 round competition to decide who would have the opportunity to either compete themselves or make the other compete in the challenge on Thursday to decide who enters back into the game. While the first round was close, Cameron ended up winning the challenge, competing and winning the battle back comp to officially re-enter the game and the shot at winning Big Brother. Jared was now eliminated from the game. In his post interview he revealed that Blue does know that Cirie is Jareds mom. We'll see if that info comes back to play a role?
Scary-verse week is now over. (Well, kind of.) Once again, the only person the house can't have win Head of Household, Cameron, Wins again. (He is a comp beast, which is painting a bit of a target.) He nominates Mecole and Felicia. (Letting Mecole know she is a pawn, and the target is Felicia.) On a special Tuesday episode this week, the Power of Veto comp was sponsored by the new Exorcist movie and... surprise, surprise, Cameron won the Power of Veto. He has ALL the decision-making power this week. After a few conversations that painted Cory in not a great light, now Cameron has a decision to make. Does he keep things the same and get Felicia out? Or does he bring down Mecole and back door Cory?? The episode ended with that cliffhanger as we will all find out his decision and who gets evicted on Thursday night!
This was such a wild stretch of Big Brother. The alliances, fake alliances and backstabbing were at an all time high. The Zombie battle back on double eviction was awesome and the Exorcist Veto comp was legit scary as hell. We are just one more elimination before Jury so strategy and jury maintenance will begin to come into play really soon. Should be an awesome final 3rd of the season. Join me in a few weeks as I recap weeks 9,10,11 and 12 as we prepare for the finale!
