TNA TURNING POINT LIVE FROM WRESTLECADE

- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief

Dating back to June 29th of this year, after watching the TNA Impact! tapings emanating from the infamous 2300 Arena (ECW Arena) in Philly, I knew that there was something very special about this particular TNA Wrestling Roster. Since then, TNA has added even more talent including the signing of KC Navarro, Lei Ying Lee, and recently renewing the contracts of Jeff and Matt Hardy.

This past Friday night, the absolutely stacked roster headed to WrestleCade Weekend in North Carolina, with the return of one of it's marquee events, Turning Point. The show featured some solid matches, rivalries renewed, and even a few surprises.

Matches like Moose vs Laredo Kid and Santana vs Frankie Kazarian set the tone for the evening. Both Santana and Kazarian consistently show that they can shine as brightly as they want outside of AEW. This was a great opener for the night.

A little levity was provided by the Turkey Bowl Match in which Joe Hendry defeated Bryan Meyers with a standing ovation. Post Match, Eric Young, Rhyno, and Hendry hit a flurry of finishers on Meyers before making him adorn the infamous Turkey costume, much to the delight of the Winston-Salem crowd.

I've said this many times, but Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin could literally fight forever. These two are just the kind of dance partners that can do anything in that squared circle. The match between the two was absolutely epic, and you knew it would be. "This is Awesome!" chants from the TNA faithful. These two absolutely beat the heck out of each other with tables, chairs, and even just their fists. Maclin even brought out some bullet shell casings winning the match with a massive KIA off the top. Big time win for Maclin.

The first of a few surprises saw the TNA debut of Matt Riddle teaming with Kushida and Zachary Wentz to take on the Hardys, alongside Ace Austin. Pre-match featured a nice video package for Chris Bey who is on the road to recovery. You can donate to Chris Bey's GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/chris-bey-recovery-funds

This was a really fun six man match between two babyface teams. "This is Awesome!" chants once again as the Hardys played all the hits along with their new plot twist tandem maneuver, and the first ever Jeff Hardy Canadian Destroyer!!  Jeff Hardy wins the match with a picture perfect Swanton Bomb, and post-match a show of respect amongst all six competitors.

Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace ran it back with another epic bout for the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Previous bouts between them can easily be considered to be Match of the Year Contenders. These two tear it up every single time, but Masha would ultimately put Jordynne Grace behind her in this 2 out of 3 falls match. Post-match Rosemary would make her presence felt.

The main event saw TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth take on The System's Eddie Edwards. Nemeth is greatly outnumbered by outside interference from Alisha Edwards and Bryan Meyers throughout, but John Bradshaw Layfield once again aids Nemeth with a Clothesline From Hell on Meyers. AND STILL... your TNA World Champion, Nic Nemeth.

TNA continues to ride the recent wave of momentum heading into the New Year and don't be surprised if you see some TNA talent once again show up at The Royal Rumble. TNA Impact! airs Thursday Nights on AXS and on TNA+
