THE RAVENS RUN PRIME TIME

- Wayne Keehner, Contributor

Since 2008, when John Harbaugh became the Ravens coach, they have had a league leading 39 - 18 record with a .691 win percentage in Prime Time games.

While the overwhelming majority of America and experts picked the Bills, it was clear that Baltimore had other plans. They had to avenge the Home opening loss to Raiders by making sure that the M&T Bank fans went home happy.

How did they do it? They played "Ravens" football. Hard nosed, run first, stingy defense, grind it out, Ravens football.  It all started with a King Henry 87 yard TD run on the first offensive play. That would be the jump start to what would be a 204 all purpose yard and 2 TD performance!

Lamar was able to stay in the pocket and look to pass first, as he was able to spread the ball around to his receivers in key moments to keep drives alive.

There were a few frustrating moments as yet again Lamar's ball protection was sloppy as he looked to do more than needed and it led to another fumble. Also the normally sure handed Andrews had a key drop and overall was a non factor in the offensive scheme! (Though he did provide critical key blocks in multiple plays.)

In the End, this was the statement game that the Ravens needed. They went up against arguably the 2nd best team in the AFC and they dominated on both sides of the ball. Next up is the Bengals, that are coming off their first win of the season. They have surrendered over 600 rushing yards in their first 4 games.

Once again, in the end, it all depends on which Ravens team, shows up. Consistency has never been our strength!

Till next week, let's go Orioles, and.....
