JETS LOSE AT SOGGY METLIFE STADIUM
- Tom Mele, Contributor
Greg Zuerlein's 50 yard FG sailed right with seconds to go as the Jets fell to the Denver Broncos 10-9 at rainy MetLife Stadium. Denver (2-2) used rookie QB Bo Nix's first career TD pass to account for the only touchdown of the day.
The offense for both teams was limited due to the weather as the Jets outgained Denver 248-186 overall. Midway through the first quarter both teams had negative yards total.
New York (2-2) showed some of the same deficiencies they had last season as they converted only 4-17 on 3rd down. The Offensive line allowed five sacks as Rodgers seemed rushed all day. At one point, the training staff was working furiously on Rodgers after a sack in the third. Aaron exclaimed at the end of the game he was "dealing" with some issues with his leg.
The Jets star offensive players were not able to deal with the weather and Denver's defense.
RB Breece Hall 10 carries and 4 yards
WR Garrett Wilson 5 catches for 41 yards
The 13 penalties for 90 yards where another flashback to last season as super fan Awesome Amy described the contest in one word: "BRUTAL"
The Jets need to turn it around quickly as they face off against the undefeated Minnestoa Vikings (4-0) and their former QB Sam Darnold in London on Sunday Morning.
